How to pray when you have no words
Hi friend,
Some days, praying feels impossible. You open your mouth and nothing comes. Or you've prayed the same prayer so many times, you're tired of hearing yourself say it.
This week's verse
“The Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.”
Romans 8:26, WEB
In other words, even your sighs count as prayer.
Three tiny prayers for heavy days
- The breath prayer. Breathe in: “Be still…” Breathe out: “…and know You are God.” (adapted from Psalm 46:10)
- The one-word prayer. Just say the name of the thing: “Mom.” “Money.” “My marriage.” “Tomorrow.” God knows the rest.
- The thank-you prayer. Name one small good thing from today, even if it's just coffee or a warm blanket. Gratitude opens a window when everything feels shut.
Try one today. Then, if you'd like, reply and tell me which one you chose.
Stay Forever Blessed,
Forever Blessed
